Four Seasons Catering is a Halal certified caterer in Singapore. Let us take a look at some of the biggest advantages of choosing a halal catering for an event. Companies can become halal-certified when they meet specific set requirements set out by MUIS.
A quick background as documented on the MUIS website.
Majlis Ugama Islam Singapura (Muis), also known as the Islamic Religious Council of Singapore, is the Islamic authority in-charge of Muslim affairs in Singapore. Muis advises the President of Singapore on all matters relating to Islam in Singapore. Among other things, Muis provides Halal Certification services and regulates Singapore Halal industry.
Under the Administration of Muslim Law Act (AMLA), Muis is vested with the sole legal powers to issue Halal certificates in Singapore.
Section 88A(1), AMLA: The Majlis may issue Halal certificates in relation to any product, service, or activity and regulate the holders of such certificates to ensure that the requirements of Muslim law are complied with in the production, processing, marketing or display of that product, the provision of that service or the carrying out of that activity
Section 88A(5), AMLA: “Any person who, without the approval of the Majlis:
• issues a Halal certificate in relation to any product, service or activity; or
• uses any specified Halal certification mark or any colourable imitation thereof, shall be guilty of an offence and shall be liable on conviction to a fine not exceeding $10,000 or to imprisonment for a term not exceeding 12 months or both
Established in 1978, Muis Halal Certification is voluntary. The move to set up its Halal Certification Strategic Unit was driven by the increasing demand for Singapore products being Halal-certified and for eating establishments.
In 2016, Muis certified more than 4,000 premises and has played an important role as the custodian of Halal food assurance for Singapore’s 15% Muslim population. Furthermore, the burgeoning Halal food industry with the availability of many Halal-certified eating establishments has helped foster social interaction between individuals from diverse racial, cultural and religious backgrounds.

Four Seasons Catering is a Halal certified caterer since its inception.
Apart from providing assurance to Muslim friends & colleagues, here are some benefits when placing your order with a Halal-certified caterer.
Hygiene Standards and Food Safety
The basic tenet of Halal, the consumption of pork & its by-product, blood and animals that have died in a specific way is strictly forbidden. Halal meat, for example, comes from the right species and the animal has to be killed in a specific way.
A strict set of hygienic rules has to be adhered to. As a result, the contamination incidence rate for halal meals is low.
Better Meat Quality
Halal meat comes from certain types of animals. The animals are cared for in a specific way, which results in much healthier meat than in the case of standard farming.
Meat that is considered 100% Halal has to come from animals that are grass-fed, free from antibiotics or given other chemicals. In addition, no preservatives are to be added to halal meat.
The absence of such additives will increase the health benefits of halal meat even further.
The Halal method of slaughtering an animal is aimed at causing as little pain and suffering as possible. Butchers trained in the methods to ensure a quick and painless process.
Factory farming is known for the many cruel practices that many people are already turning against. As awareness about standard meat production increases, more and more people are beginning to switch to alternatives like Halal meat.
As a Halal certified catering company in Singapore, we follow best practices and standards. Our processes include well-established food preparation methodologies which in turn results in better food quality for our customers.
Obtaining and maintaining a Halal certification is not an easy process. There is a list of requirements that a Halal caterer like Four Seasons Catering will have to adhere to. And we have been certified Halal for over two decades.
